Our DMV-approved Behind-the-Wheel program is designed for students under 18 who have successfully completed the 30-hour classroom or online portion of Driver’s Education and are ready for practical, structured in-car training. Instruction is provided by certified instructors in dual-control vehicles to ensure both safety and professionalism.

The program includes 14 sessions: 7 sessions of hands-on driving and 7 sessions of in-car observation, with each session lasting 50 minutes.

Prerequisites:

• Be under the age of 18 years.

• Hold valid Virginia learners permit

• Have successfully completed the 30-hour classroom or online Driver’s Education course.

• Provide proof of classroom Driver’s Education completion (DEC-1 card).

• Have a parent or guardian’s consent for participation if under 18.

• Have completed 45 hours of driving practice with a parent, guardian, or licensed adult, of which 15 hours must be completed after sunset. (This practice is logged on the Parent/Teen Driving Guide and must be presented)
